Assembly Instructions:
1. Disassembly of the original guitar pins and assembly of the Richter Strap Lock guitar pins
Disassemble the original guitar pins from your guitar. If your guitar pins contain a removable screw, please check whether this screw fits through the guitar pins of the Richter Strap Lock System. If so, we strongly recommend using the guitar's original screw, as it fits perfectly into the existing screw hole.
A small drop of wood glue on the tip of the screw is optional. This increases the hold of the screw.
Was there an underlay (felt, leather, ...) with the original guitar pin? Then please use this washer again when assembling the Richter Strap Lock Pin. Make sure that the newly installed Richter Strap Lock guitar pins are firmly in place.
2. Attachment of the strap pin holders with locking mechanism
Prepare the pin holes of your guitar strap for the passage of the 10mm (3/8") thread of the Richter Strap Lock System. In our online shop we offer a punch (art. no. 1406) with ∅ 10 mm (3/8") for adjustment especially for this.
Unscrew the nut from the thread of the strap pin holder and remove the washer.
Guide the thread of the strap pin holder from the back of the guitar strap through the 10 mm (3/8") pin hole. The opening of the mounting rail points upwards.
Now place the washer on the front of the guitar strap and screw the nut onto the thread. Tighten the nut with a size 13 (T7) wrench.
Make sure that the nut is held securely.
3. Use
To lock the Richter Strap Lock System, pull the button on the locking bolt of the strap pin holder. With the button pulled, slide the strap pin holder over the guitar pin as far as it will go. Only then do you release the button and the bolt locks in the seat of the guitar pin. Check that the system is securely held.
The strap is now securely connected to the guitar.
Important usage note: Check the hold of the guitar pin and the hold of the nut on the strap pin holders before each use. If necessary, the screws and nuts must be retightened. The assembly and use of the Richter Strap Lock System is at your own risk and at the risk of the user.
